NTU's high-tech MBA provides a
well-rounded curriculum for each of its students. The core is built around the
six core courses listed below. In addition to these core courses, there are
"core threads" woven into the structure of the curriculum, designed to teach
students essential business skills.
Core Threads
Fundamental, skill-based subjects are threaded through each of the six core
courses described below. Rather than follow the traditional MBA model of
teaching each subject as an isolated course, NTU allows students to develop
these skills—within the context of the main areas of business administration.
The result is a "power-packed" MBA core that provides technically trained
professionals with knowledge and skills in essential business tenets. By
fulfilling the core courses, students will develop skills in the following "core
thread" areas: Decision Making, Change Management, Managing Distance, Ethics,
Constituency Awareness, Communication and Collaboration, and Networking.
Core Courses
The first three courses in the curriculum focus on organizational dynamics:
* Organizational Behavior & Change—Working Within the Equations of State
* Leadership and Teamwork—Accomplishing Momentum Transfer Using Power,
Influence, and Collaboration
* Negotiation & Strategy—Solving the Boundary Value Problem
The remaining three courses of the Core program focus on business mechanics:
* Technology & Operations Management—Moore's Law and Other Business Accelerators
* Finance & Accounting—Measurement and Flow Control for the Economic Engine
* Marketing Management—Maximizing the Organizational I/O Bus
MBA Specialization Studies
Beyond the Core, students pursue career tracks, or Specialization studies, in a
specific area of concentration. Career tracks currently include:
* Global Product Management
* Information Strategies
* Emerging Technologies
* Engineering Innovation
* Technology Project Management
* Business Process Management
